Blind Masseur | 2018
-
This is a social practice project completed in the winter vacation of my freshman year in 2017. The purpose of the project was to better understand the life of the blind. After getting along and interviewing with several blind masseurs for a period of time, I finally recorded my understanding of their lives in the form of articles with the help of photography.

Excerpt from the article: “The blind masseuse Xiaobai said that people cannot communicate with each other, because since he became blind, he realized that the biggest difficulty is not that he can’t see the world, but that the world can’t see him. ‘ We can’t see what other people see, so we lose a qualification to communicate with others, it’s that simple.’ He said. “

Excerpt from the article: “He said that he only has vision in dreams. In his dreams, he can see everything clearly, so the memory of his dreams has always been clear. In some dreams, he can also see things he has never seen before, like modern cities. “

He said that before the age of nine, when he was not blind, he always went to the river not far from his home. Sometimes he threw a large basin into the river and then sat in it to float in the river.”
Once he dreamed of crossing the sea, sitting on a small boat, floating and floating. He said it was a pity that he could not feel the waves of the sea because he had never been to the sea.
